WHAT DO WE TALK ABOUT WHEN WE TALK ABOUT SHARED MOBILITY?
A lot of the questions in the questionnaire use specific shared mobility terminology. If you’re unsure what we mean by ride sharing initiatives or free floating carsharing systems, you might want to download our cheat sheet, which makes clear what we talk about when we talk about shared mobility.
The terminology we use stems from the Planner’s Guide to the Shared Mobility Galaxy. If you need some night time reading tips, this guide might do the trick.
You might notice ride sourcing is mentioned in the Guide, but not in our questionnaire or on our cheat sheet. We believe ride sourcing doesn't really contribute to making liveable cities, because this type of mobility results in drivers riding around to collect costumers, without really needing to take the trip themselves. We believe other forms of mobility are more interesting to provide for these kind of trips, which is why we do not take ride sourcing into account in the Accelerator.
